Senior Financial Analyst

Our client is a fast-growing logistics infrastructure company headquartered in MA with offices in New York City and operations on the East Coast and Midwest. The company owns and operates a network of terminals and logistics assets on the East Coast and Inland River System of the United States. They provide full-service and transparent logistics solutions to some of the world’s largest companies. The company has grown rapidly due to acquisitions over the last year and will continue to for the foreseeable future. The Senior Financial Analyst role is role is open due to growth and will be predominantly REMOTE.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create reports and updates based on data analysis
  • Analyze financial data and develop financial models
  • Review and analyze financial statements and reports and perform variance analysis
  • Assist with budgeting and monthly close process
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Understand key business drivers to develop and track KPIs
  • Review accounting transactions for data accuracy
  • Support accounting team as needed with audit and special projects
  • Perform financial forecasting
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Must reside on the Easter Time Zone
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a senior financial analyst, financial analyst, or in a similar position
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • College degree in finance, business, economics, or accounting, or any management related degree. Postgraduate degree in a business related field or an MBA is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – effective communication both written and oral
  • Excellent presentation skills – the ability to understand and interpret complex data easily to all necessary stakeholders
  • Expertise and confidentiality in handling financial database, finance, and statistical software
  • Ability to learn new concepts and tasks quickly, work under pressure, and meet deadline requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well independently and better in a team
  • Possess strong attention to details, effective multitasking, and swift strategic thinking skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other related accounting law or standards
  • Good organizational and recordkeeping abilities
  • High proficiency with the use of MS office, especially Excel and Power-Point
