Senior Director of Engineering, Lid Controller Hub, Client Computing Group

We are building an exciting new product line for personal computers: A companion SoC called the Lid Controller Hub (LCH) that manages the functions in the lid of a laptop
– display, vision, audio, touch, and more.

By optimizing the system architecture and operating at ultra-low power, the LCH significantly increases system battery life and enables a wide range of new and improved user experiences from richer displays to better videoconferencing to improved privacy and security and more.

LCH is a critical part of CCGs platform strategy, extending our leadership in sensing and driving more opportunity for customers to differentiate for our EVO brand.

We are looking for a product engineering leader who will be responsible for end to end product engineering
– architecture, IP, front-end design, validation and manufacturing, software, platform integration, customer enabling, engineering and support, and program management.

This role will focus on building and leading a technically strong and capable engineering organization that drives industry-leading innovation and executes flawlessly and will drive both internal and external development partners.

This leader will be a key member of the team developing the product vision and strategy.

Initially the organization is virtual; the leader will assess the product development lifecycle, roles and responsibilities across multiple teams in CCG, Design Engineering Group (DEG) and other organizations, and identify and implement the optimal org structure for sustained success.

This role will report into the General Manager (GM), Lid Controller Hub Business.

An Ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• Experience in driving complex projects that span disciplines and geos
• The ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
• Experience in Technical program management and skills such as the ability to drive and influence decisions among the platform and ingredient teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• The ability to hire, train and grow a world-class team, including managing team performance and taking the team to a higher level

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Leading a team that develops and delivers the Lid Controller Hub product line and its ultimate objectives of leadership user experiences, new display technology enabling, and power efficiency.
• Leading a strong and highly energized and technical organization
  – achieve people and organizational goals across multiple functional groups.
• Challenging existing processes that inhibit growth and velocity; actively drives collaboration across multiple teams to deliver significantly more value for Intel
• Creating a culture of innovation where new and innovative ideas for growth are encouraged

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in Computer Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Relevant experience required in silicon design, validation, and testing, with expertise in at least some of the domains of display, vision, audio, and sensing
