Senior Accountant – JDE System Implementation

Position Summary: Maintain and provide guidance on JDE implementations and ongoing ERP financial activities.

Position ensures internal controls are followed and the integrity of the Company’s General Ledger and Financial Statements are maintained.

Ongoing responsibilities include documenting and training the use of the following JDE modules: Journal Entries, Purchase Orders, Account Payable, Workorder Completion and Manufacturing Accounting.

Position will also assist in the development and implementation of the Order Management module as the Ventura Foods transitions to the full functionality of JDE.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct site analysis as each location or department transitions to JDE.

Tasks include identifying and working with local SMEs and develops a project plan that meets implementation timelines.

Flow charts and training material are documented and used in the implementation.

Position leads process flow documentation efforts to ensure that internal controls are followed.

Position will create eLearnings for JDE functions that can be used for site training as well as new employees that join the company.* Provide training in the following areas: General Accounting, Purchase orders, A/P, workorder completion and manufacturing accounting.

Position is an advocate for the plant personnel to ensure full understanding and training is complete.

Accountant assists in data validation during system testing, day in the life activities and cutovers.

Position provides corrective actions once a location or department has transitioned to JDE and remains on site until local support team is self sufficient.* Position provides post audits to ensure plants are following standard JDE practices.

Workorder completion percent is tracked and corrective actions recommended as needed.

Purchase orders are reviewed for accuracy, received properly and closed out when complete.

A/P reviewed to ensure discounts are being taken.

Position also insures JDE setup is GAAP compliant and departments are using properly.Member of the Master Data Management Team in the area of Product Data Management (PDM).

Ensures item master data is setup correctly and completely in JDE which leads to accurate inventories and product costing.* Member of the Master Data Management Team in the area of Product Data Management (PDM).

Review system requirements and work with development team to document design, configure, test and implement.

Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.* Minimum 5 years experience in a related field.* 3+ years experience with JDE ERP systems required.* Ability to travel 75%, including ability to obtain a valid passport.* Prior process manufacturing experience is desirable.* Commodity or food processing experience is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills: * Thorough knowledge of general accounting principle and practices.* Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.* Ability to focus on details and perform functions with accuracy.* Proficiency in Excel and Word.
