Senior Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Accounting responsibilities include performing month end close in accordance with GAAP, keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. Should be well versed in GAAP accounting and all accounting procedures. Ultimately, a successful Senior Accountant will ensure the company’s daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions run accurately and effectively. This position will grow into a Controller position.

Responsibilities

• Monthly close in accordance with GAAP
• Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents, reconciliations, and records
• Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and reconcile accounts
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts in a timely manner
• Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
• Provide assistance and support to company personnel
• Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
• Assist with preparing bi-weekly payroll for third party processing. Paycor experience a plus.

Skills

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Senior accountant / Controller of a small to mid sized company.
• GAAP experience
• Month end close process
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Foreign currency experience
• QuickBooks Desktop expertise
• Experienced with project accounting and deferred revenues
• Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers
• Well organized
• Self Starter
• College degree in accounting
