Description

onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join our Corporate Accounting team as a Senior Accountant in Phoenix, AZ.

As the Staff Accountant you will c ontribute to the creation and accuracy of the financial statements for ON.

You will help drive our Company’s success through performing functions to maintain accounting records, develop analysis and reports, and assist the Controllers group in interpreting contracts and US GAAP.

You will also have the opportunity to assist with preparation of SEC filings such as our 10-Q and 10-K reports.

You should have strong interpersonal skills to work well with cross-functional teams and be one who thrives in a fast paced environment of a growing Company.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Play a key role in the monthly close by preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly reports and assist with ad hoc reporting requests.
• Perform monthly analytical review of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
• Create, maintain, and manipulate large MS Excel data models.
• Ownership of some sales reserve accounts to ensure timely accrual.
• Interpret and document contracts to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Contribute to audit preparation by providing requested documentation and analysis.
• Drive continued process improvement, including working cross-functionally, to create repeatable, consistent best practices that are scalable for growth.
• Perform technical accounting research to determine appropriate accounting treatment for new and existing business processes
• Assist management with training and coaching across the organization
• Perform other duties that may be requested by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required.
• CPA or CPA candidate
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.

  Combination of Public Accounting and Industry experience preferred.

• Detail oriented with superior critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Hyperion and Oracle) preferred.
• Adept at working with large datasets in MS Excel heavy processes.
• Ability to analyze and interpret contracts.
• Ability to deal well with ambiguity.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and interact cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to adapt to an evolving and growing company environment
• Minimal travel may be requested
