We welcome and need your unique voice and look forward to having you join our team SCOPE OF ROLE Financial Health Network is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting team in our Chicago office.

We’re looking for an accounting professional with 2-5 years of transaction processing and general accounting experience.

The desired candidate will be enthusiastic about both CFSI’s mission and a career in accounting.

In addition, the role will require someone who is detail oriented, flexible, and has a strong accounting knowledge base.

The preferred candidate will be someone who is a self-starter, thorough, adept at learning new software, and eager to collaborate in order to solve unstructured problems.

LOCATION Chicago RESPONSIBILITIES Learn and maintain FHN’s chart of accounts and various transaction coding structures Review AP/AR transactions, client reimbursable expenses, and credit card transactions Assist with accounts receivable function including collections and cash receipts; and reconciliations; Assist with accounts payable function including Initiating check runs and initiates payroll.

Prepare general journal entries and reconciliations ahead of month-end close Assist Sr.

Manager in drafting financial statements, process documentation, and other process improvement efforts Assist in budget and forecasting processes and analysis.

Learning and administering budget and forecasting system software (Adaptive Insights) Ad hoc reporting and analysis Assist in year-end audit requests Manage, review and delegate requests received in accounting’s shared email address QUALIFICATIONS A commitment to the mission of Financial Health Network and a desire to positively impact the trajectory of a highly-impactful, national nonprofit At least 2 years of experience in a general accounting or auditing role Thorough knowledge of GAAP, with preference given towards non-profit entity experience.

Demonstrated experience learning new software applications, with proficiency required in MS Excel; experience with data analysis, Salesforce, GP Dynamics, and Adaptive Insights are all a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptionally detail oriented and organized EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, desires to complete CPA designation is highly desired;
