Chicago Loop-based private family office seeks a high energy, well-organized, competent, hard-working, dedicated and ambitious Senior Accountant to join a growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial team. The family office invests opportunistically in all asset classes, including public and private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and direct investments in a variety of industries. The family office also serves the tax, financial, administrative and personal interests of the founders and their related entities which include trusts, limited liability companies, and foundations.Skills/Experience• Bachelor’s degree required.• Licensed Certified Public Accountant preferred.• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting, reporting, and client service.• Solid knowledge of financial accounting is very important.• Experience with partnership, trust and investment accounting a plus.• A commitment to quality service, excellence and hard work is essential.• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Quickbooks (or equivalent)• Experience with Oracle NetSuite Accounting ERP a plus• Solid problem-solving skills and solution-focused perspective.Responsibilities• This role is responsible for the daily operational and investment accounting. including account reconciliations, accounts payable, and transaction reporting.• Prepare detailed reconciliations on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for bank, credit card and investment accounts owned by individuals, trusts and partnerships.• Assist with accounting for multiple entities, trusts and individuals, including recording receipts/disbursements and maintaining the general ledgers.• Assist with Treasury function (i.e., receipts, disbursements, wire transfers, account reconciliations, etc.) for multiple bank and investment accounts.• Own the transaction entry process into accounting & investment management software for a variety of asset types (private equity funds, hedge funds, operating companies, etc.)• Assist with maintaining the accuracy/integrity and completeness of financial data and non-financial records.• Responsible for the ongoing cash management including daily cash review, bank/broker reconciliations, check/wire review, weekly cash disbursement reports, and monthly cash sources & uses report.• Assist with tax support and compliance with all entity filings and quarterly estimated payments for all partnerships, LLCs, trusts and individual returns.• Preparation of work papers and account analyses in connection with tax return preparationCompensation:• Base salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.• Discretionary annual bonus potential based upon meeting goals and objectives.• Competitive benefits package, including (subject to eligibility requirements and waiting periods) medical/dental/vision insurance, long-term and short-term disability, life insurance, profit sharing/401k plan with employer match, and PTO.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,483.00 – $99,558.00 per yearBenefits:• 401(k)• Dental insurance• Disability insurance• Flexible schedule• Health insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• Vision insuranceSchedule:• 8 hour shift• Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:• Bonus payEducation:• Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location:• One locationWork Remotely:• No
