Job Description

SOVAH Health
– Danville

Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate to assist with the planning, coordination and administration of general accounting activities of the organization.

Provides professional support to all areas of the Accounting department as needed including the preparation of financial statements.

Prepare and enter journal entries and maintain period-end financial reports.

Maintain daily and monthly statisticsPrepare reports and analyses for administration as assigned.Prepare survey responses and data research reports for outside agencies as assigned.

Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset subsidiary system.Assist in periodic physical inventories of fixed assets, supplies inventories or other assets as assigned.Responsible for the addition of new general ledger accounts into accounts payable and general ledger system.

Preparation and reconciliation of CIP and Fixed Assets G/L Summaries.Responsible for the maintenance, storage, record keeping for all the general ledger accounting departmental standard system reports.Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to the general ledger each month.

Maintain supporting schedules.

Assists with the development and administration of the organization’s annual budget.Analyzes account trends and causes.Develops monthly financial projection using analytical trending data.

Aids department and unit managers in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data and reports.All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required (Accounting preferred)

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of coverage for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.

Minimum Work Experience: Two to five years of experience in financial statement preparation, strong technical and computer experience.

Previous health care experience preferred.
