Revenue Recognition Accounting Manager – Pre-IPO, NFT, Crypto Copany

Role: Senior Accountant – Revenue – SaaS-blockchain/digital assets

Type: Contract to hire

Location: 90% WFH Remote, Downtown SF for meetings only.

About our client:

Our client is Pre IPO NFT blockchain digital asset creation and storage company seeking a Senior Accountant with Revenue experience with a background in SaaS.

This role will require owning & running the full-cycle revenue functions (not only platform, also projects revenue in NetSuite. 

This revenue position is hybrid to SF downtown but mostly WFH with daily zoom meeting check in. 

What you’ll do

• Serve as the primary technical revenue accounting resource for the company
• Research, resolve and document accounting issues that arise during each quarter in accordance with ASC 606
• Own the monthly revenue accounting cycle, including oversight of the billing and collection teams
• Review the most complex contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Partner with the Sales and Contracts departments to influence deal structures and provide education and training to the business on revenue accounting impacts
• Own the creation and maintenance of revenue and collections related policies and procedures
• Work directly with external auditors to provide appropriate documentation and explanations for revenue related audit requests
• Integrate revenue operations of new businesses acquired
• Provide coaching to the accountants on the team to improve their skills and overall performance of the team
• Monitor accounting standards updates and oversee the adoption of new revenue related accounting standards

What we’re looking for:

• BS/BA in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SaaS software revenue recognition experience a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
• NetSuite and NetSuite SOX creation experience
• Expereince working with SaaS revenue recognition
