By extending the life cycle of clothing, thredUP is changing the way consumers shop and ushering in a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.How You Will Make An ImpactReporting to our Director of Revenue, the Revenue Accounting Manager’s research andrecommendations will further advance an exciting new line of thredUP’s business. Youwill own contract review and proposals around deal structures for our fast-growing RAAS(Resale-As-A-Service) business vertical and be responsible for all revenue accountingrelated to RAAS. The ideal candidate will thrive in cross-functional and collaborativeworking environments, bringing to the table not only technical accounting knowledgebut also operational revenue accounting perspectiveIn This Role You’ll Get To:* Collaborate and coordinate with business partners to review RAAS contracts for potential accounting or operational implications and advise accordingly* Be responsible for revenue accounting in all RAAS related, such as month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting, and audit* Collaborate with Sales, Legal and Accounting Leaders to design RAAS contract process for efficiency and repeatability* Design and implement RAAS revenue accounting subledger* Initiate, review, and implement process improvements to revenue accounting processes to ensure operational efficiencies and scalability, while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the underlying accounting records* Research and document revenue accounting treatments for RAAS and other complex and unusual revenue accounting transactions* Ensure all revenue accounting processes are SOX-compliant* Coordinate with tax team to evaluate tax treatment for revenue agreements* Assist FP&A function with revenue-related budgets/ forecasts* Support external reporting function in preparing revenue-related disclosures for our 10Q, 10-K reporting as necessary* Participate in or lead ad hoc projects, as neededWhat We’re Looking For:* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent* 4-6 years of relevant revenue accounting experience* Big 4 public accounting experience required* CPA required* Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance* Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and document well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues* Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and communication skillsWhat We Offer* Currently running a 4-day work week experiment through year end 2021, with Fridays off* Competitive salary (we leverage market data) + stock* Employee stock purchase plan* Flexible PTO (take the time you need) + 12 company holidays* Paid Sabbatical after 3 years of full time employment* Generous paid parental leave for new mothers and fathers* Medical, dental, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance offered* We live by our Core Values of Transparency, SpeakingUP, Thinking Big, Infinite Learning, Influencing Outcomes & Seeking the Truth* Voted “50 Most Innovative Companies of 2020″* RaaS – Finalist in Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards 2021* 2021 FORTUNE Change the World FinalistWe believe diversity, inclusion and belonging is key for our team.At thredUP, our mission has been built on extending the lives of millions of unique clothing items.
