We are seeking to hire a Quality Assurance Inspector to support our Specialty Materials business unit. This position will be based at our Additive Manufacturing facility in New Britain, CT.
As a Quality Assurance Inspector you will support the Quality Manager System and perform 1st piece (first article of inspection), in-process, final, and source inspections as required by work instructions. This position will include measurements with various instruments, verification and review of order documents, and other duties as assigned.
A successful Quality Assurance Inspector will quickly grasp ATI’s business culture and products, have a strong attention to detail, possess strong math skills, understand and interpret blueprints, and be able to read and interpret order specifications.
Job Requirements:
Essential Functions:
- Works independently within established procedures
- Works from operation/process sheets, blueprints, engineering drawings, and other specific procedures
- Perform inspections as required utilizing conventional layout inspection techniques and equipment
- Mount or install tools, attachments, fixtures, or work pieces on 3D Scanner; Operate 3D Scanner equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs.
- Setup and operation of CMMs/ and or 3D scanners to perform inspection
- Support receiving, in-process, and final inspection
- Creates, completes, and compiles necessary documentation related to Quality Inspection as per OEM and ISO/AS standards such as First Article Inspection Reports, AS9102
- Forms, and certificates of conformance
- Regular use of Epicor, PC-DMIS, and MS Office
- Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 5S initiatives
- Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas
- Maintain records (paper and electronic) of inspection and calibration results
- Support other Quality Department functions as needed
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- 3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting
