We are currently seeking a Property Management Accountant.
In this hands-on role, the applicant will be responsible for accounting for property related transactions and providing property management support for a portion of its multi-family and commercial projects.
In addition, the candidate will record accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial information for the projects, provide regular reporting packages to both external and internal investors and provide explanations for variances to the budget on a monthly basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Booking of accrual entries in the general ledger.
Monthly review of operating results to ensure accurate recording of income and expenses.
Recording of cash receipts and security deposits.
Proposing distributions and calling capital as needed.
Reviewing rent collections and working with property management team to collect outstanding balances.
Reviewing bank reconciliations.
REQUIREMENTS :
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
· Experience with multi-family property accounting preferred.
· Significant experience with large accounting software programs (Timberline or Yardi required).
· Five years of accounting experience with at least three years of Property Management & Construction Accounting experience.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including writing formulas to complete mathematical functions, working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
· Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
