General Summary Maintain pest control operations. Complete pest control work orders, train staff, maintain records and inventory. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Spray chemical solutions or toxic gases and set mechanical traps to kill pests that infest buildings and surrounding areas, fumigates rooms and buildings using toxic gases, sprays chemical solutions or dusts powders in rooms and work areas, places poisonous paste or bait and mechanical traps where pests are present. May clean areas that harbor pests, using rakes, brooms, shovels, and mops preparatory to fumigating. Complete pest control work orders by spraying or dusting chemical solutions, powders or gases. May also set traps. Maintain pest control records. Direct or assist other workers in treatment and extermination processes. Maintain and order inventory. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements C3 Tennessee Applicator License is required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle critical situations. Knowledgeable and skilled in pest control. Must have required Tennessee state license(s). Work Environment Frequent heavy or intense physical requirements. Frequent exposure to a number of disagreeable environmental elements, such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. Injury may require professional treatment or hospitalizationconstant precautions required, i.e., face mask, safety glasses, and/or ear protection needed at all times.
