This unique and critical position is a Senior level individual contributor role in the Personal Systems Finance team supporting the Personal Systems business unit.
You will report directly to the VP of Personal System Finance to facilitate the various inorganic growth opportunities through the entire mergers and acquisitions process
– from due diligence all the way through integration.These are exciting times!
The Personal Systems business unit has a set strategy to evaluate and act on potential inorganic opportunities that support our overall Personal Systems growth strategy.
Most recently, the Personal Systems organization closed on two new acquisitions
– HyperX and Teradici
– and we are continuing to evaluate other inorganic opportunities.
This role will be in the middle of it all!As part of this dynamic team, your role will be responsible for leading the mergers and acquisitions processes in support of the Personal Systems organization and finance teams to ensure the right due diligence is applied
– including asking proper questions, raising issues, finalizing deals and ensuring a smooth integration of acquired entities.As M&A lead for the Personal Systems Finance team, you will be the recognized authority on mergers and acquisitions processes for the Personal Systems finance team.
You will coordinate with Personal Systems finance directors and other senior financial analysts in the team to drive proper execution.
This position will interact extensively with the overall HP mergers and acquisitions team, the HP Finance M&A team, Personal Systems business unit, Commercial Organization, and HP global functional teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate, Tax, etc.
You will be the trusted business advisor to guide the finance team, the business unit, and newly acquired entities through the process.Your main responsibilities will include:* Consulting and evaluating potential inorganic deals on behalf of Personal Systems finance by working with HP Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions teams through complex financial forecasts* Reviewing business and financial assumptions and providing insightful questions and commentary* Consulting with business leaders to guide and influence decisions on short-term and long-term planning efforts and determining how to operationalize key business processes Day 1 and beyond* Translating Corp Dev Authorization To Sign (ATS) /Investment Review Board (IRB) financials to HP Budget/Long-term Plans (LTP)* Driving process alignment and execution between Personal Systems, Commercial Organization and functional areas on Day 1 of deal signing through the Temporary Service Agreements (TSAs) stage all the way through the final, full integration within HP* Providing business analysis, identifying root cause issues, and developing recommendations and solutions to address risks/issues that arise throughout the process* Leading and advising on assumption changes* Capturing and documenting end-to-end current and to-be processes for the acquired entities* Supporting post-merger Investment Review Board (IRB) financial reviews* Providing mentoring and coaching to peers and more junior employeesExperience Necessary:* Exceptional ability in understanding and documenting key business and functional processes* Strong financial forecasting/modeling skills and analysis based on macro and micro factors that will help in assessing risk* Ability to operationalize short-term and long-term plans* Excellent communication and influencing skills* Superior teamwork skills with a track record of working on global teams in various time zones successfully* Good project management skills* Ability to manage and mitigate uncertainty* Ability to operate in a matrix environment, proactive and willing to pick up the phone and use your network to get things done* Strong understanding of HP’s policies and processes* Ability to multi-task and prioritizeThis role has been created from scratch so we are looking for a strong self-starter.
