Payroll Assistant- Temp to Hire- Robbinsdale, MN

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant for our global banking client in Robbinsdale, MN.

This is a Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm schedule, temp to hire opportunity.

Perks available in the first 30 days and pay starts at $17.85/hr.

Purpose: Provide general administrative support to the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for 75,000 employees in the U.S.

Provide general support to the Payroll team including employee overpayment collections, garnishments, daily mail intake and prep of outgoing mail, work various Payroll and Timekeeping audit reports and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Scope: Supports the accurate and timely payroll processing and collection activities for employees in the U.S.

Includes data entry, HR case management, employee communications, work payroll and timekeeping audit reports and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Areas of Responsibility: Enters, reviews and updates cases in the internal ServiceNow HR case management system.

Communicates via email, phone and messaging applications with employees and managers to support internal payroll processing processes.

Maintains knowledge of departmental procedures and documents all work.

Reviews payroll and timekeeping exception and audit reports.

Identifies and takes appropriate actions per departmental procedures.

Prints and mails payroll deposit advices As a backup to the Payroll Collections Specialist, processes collections using knowledge of departmental procedures and documents all work.

Reviews all incoming mail and takes appropriate action to save, respond to, distribute to intended parties, etc.

Prepares and mails wage garnishment paperwork to ADP.

Assembles and mails outgoing collection letters to employees and former employees.

Investigates and answers questions regarding collection issues.

Maintains master collections spreadsheet of all amounts owed and paid and current status of collection efforts.

Provides ideas for improvement on the payroll tasks assigned to increase efficiency.

Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Minimum: 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing, timekeeping or collections.

• Strong PC skills, preferred experience working in PeopleSoft, Kronos, Workday and/or Service Now
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a team approach to problem solving.

• Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee payroll information.
