Nuance: Senior Technical Revenue Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Technical Revenue Accountant that will support Nuance’s Healthcare and Enterprise Divisions.

Candidates should have a desire to be involved on the system side of accounting and support the business in areas related to revenue recognition.

The Senior Technical Revenue Accountant will support the Senior Manager and be the primary liaison on the Technical Revenue Accounting team for both our Healthcare and Enterprise Divisions with respect to the order to cash workflow, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 and the related financial accounting systems (Oracle and Rev Pro).

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams in Order Management, Finance, and IT to continuously improve upon the standard operating procedures, design, and internal controls of the financial accounting systems.

In addition, on an ad hoc basis, the Sr Technical Revenue Accountant will assist with deal support, contract reviews, documentation of revenue conclusions, revenue analytics, and other system and process improvements.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Consistently collaborate with cross functional teams in Order Management, Finance, and IT to continuously improve upon the standard operating procedures, design, and internal controls of the financial accounting systems in accordance with ASC 606 including but not limited to:Identifying potential issues and root causes as well as scoping the associated revenue impactPerforming User Acceptance Testing of upgrades, fixes, and/or changes to financial accounting systems prior to deployment in productionDocumenting and validating action plans to correct issues in the financial accounting system on impacted arrangements and to prevent such issues from occurring againEnsuring that the order to cash workflow including the standard operating procedures and internal controls is working in an effective, optimal, and as required basis in accordance with ASC 606Work with Sales, Professional Services, Legal, the Global Deal Optimization team, and Technical Revenue Accounting Senior Management to develop deal structures which accomplish customer objectives while yielding desired economic and accounting outcomes for NuanceReview and document complex, multi-element sales contracts to support compliancePrepare and review periodic studies (including SSP, customer life, etc.)Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline3+ years of revenue recognition accounting in accordance with ASC 606Required Skills:Working knowledge of Financial Accounting Systems and the associated order to cash workflowsWorking knowledge of ASC 606Strong ExcelStrong organizational and analytical skillsAbility to present data in a comprehensive and articulate mannerSystem Skills (Not Required):Oracle and/or a similar financial accounting system with respect to Order Entry and/or the General LedgerRev Pro and/or a similar ASC 606 revenue subledgerSalesforce or a similar customer relationship management (CRM) tool#LI-Hybrid#LI-JA1Nuance offers a compelling and rewarding work environment.
