Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a National Accounting Manager for our North Kingstown, RI location.

Description:  
The National Accounting Manager assists the Regional Controller and the CFO with the financial affairs of North & Central America Legal entities by managing Accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and consolidation functions.

The position would be responsible for managing the generation of all pertinent journal entries, billings, reconciliations and other financial reporting, including interim and final financial statements for the guidance of management; and aligning financial policies and procedures across the group to establish appropriate internal controls and adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accounting systems and processes with proper internal controls to safeguard the Company’s assets and accurately reflect the financial position of the Company in accordance with IFRS.
  • Responsible for analyzing necessary IFRS changes and implementing related accounting procedures.
  • Monitors accounting and banking policies and procedures and recommends improvements, consulting with the CFO
  • Coordinates annual financial audit.
  • Oversees general ledger as well as SG&A budgeting and forecasting.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Payable and Receivable, payroll, and tax departments.
  • Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, IFRS and Company policies.
  • Assigns, directs, and appraises accounting staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of effective accounting strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for the effective preparation, maintenance, and consolidated reporting of internal financial records and analyses.
  • Oversees the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinates tax reporting requirements.

    Works with internal tax accountants to file federal, state, payroll, and personal tax returns.

  • Prepares and monitors the SG&A budgets.
  • Coordinates the annual audit.

    Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with IFRS and government regulations.

    Cooperates with and assists external auditors as appropriate.

  • Completes reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by Senior Management.

    Conducts cost analysis, ratio and trend analysis, and other comparative examinations as appropriate.

  • Assumes responsibility for overseeing daily operations and administrative functions for the Accounting department.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel, departments, and management.
  • Advises department managers regarding accounting entries, reports, and comparative analyses.
  • Coordinates accounting functions with other departments.
  • Ensures the timely completion of reports, records, and other documentation.
  • Ensures that all employees are well informed of accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.

    Facilitates consistency at all levels of accounting operations.

  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as appropriate.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with vendors, outside auditors and regulators, and customers.
  • Effectively supervises Accounting personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of senior management, as well as business unit personnel
  • Ensure compliance with current Hexagon accounting standards and practices

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Accounting, CPA Certificate required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Working knowledge Hyperion, LX/BPCS, and Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Team player: supports teammates and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • People skills.

    Ability to resolve conflicts, provide support, leadership, and motivation.
