Purpose Of The Role
As a Mergers and Acquisitions Accounting Consultant, you will partner with our top tier clients to conduct research and provide guidance on IPO’s, carve-outs, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, revenue recognition and leasing processes, and external reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Perform technical accounting research for transaction-related events, and prepares technical accounting white papers and memos
  • Research and manages the implementation of newly issued accounting pronouncements
  • Conduct contract reviews and recommends appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with revenue recognition and/or lease guidance 
  • Execute results of a specific SEC event such as IPO, carve-out, divestiture, merger and/or acquisition
  • Assist the SEC client team with the preparation of financial statements and footnotes along with coordinating with external auditors on the delivery of financial data
  • Develop company-wide accounting policy and corresponding manuals
  • Review potential merger and acquisition targets, including reviewing accounting policies, historical financial results and/or financial projections

Desired Experience And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required
  • 7-plus years of relevant industry experience
  • CPA/MBA with Big Four or national public accounting firm preferred
  • Strong understanding of FASB, US GAAP, and SEC rules and regulations
  • Proficiency with Excel essential and experience with a major ERP system (i.e.

    SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) preferred

  • Client service driven with excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and hands on approach
