General Role and Function: The Manager of Financial Reporting & Compliance utilizes their technical accounting expertise to provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information, and serves as the organization’s liaison for audits and reviews.
The Manager of Financial Reporting & Compliance reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: * Prepare internal and external financial reports, including monthly financial statements, budget variances and financial trend analysis.
Supports CFO in monthly Departmental performance reviews.
Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.* Responsible for Grant reporting including tracking billing and spending vs budget.
Supports CFO in monthly project and grant reviews.* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledger systems.
Approve general ledger accounts prior to posting, as required.* Reconcile payroll financial information, including taxes, withholdings, & 403(b) match.* Preparation and liaison for financial reviews and audits.* Analyze and interpret financial information, assists with budgeting and forecasting.* Ensure accuracy of financial information in accordance with accounting standards, governmental regulations, contracts, grants, and internal policies* Provide accounting support to internal departments.
Provide solutions to internal control issues.* Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, finance, or similar area of study.* CPA designation a plus.* At least five years general ledger accounting experience.* Nonprofit accounting experience a plus.* In-depth knowledge in finance and accounting including GAAP and financial statement preparation.* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.* Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office product and accounting systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with Sage Intaact a plus.* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.* Team Player with the ability to work independently.* Commitment to our mission of serving our seniors, each other, and our community to promote the dignity and independence of our clients and their needs.
Physical requirements: * Ability to work at desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.* Vision to read printed materials and computer screen.* Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.* Able to occasionally lift-up to fifteen (15) pounds to move office supplies or equipment.* Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and diverse populations.* Fulltime position with periodic weekend and evening work expected
