Job Summary
The core duties of a Manager of Corporate Accounting are to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, oversee general accounting functions, review current accounting processes, and make recommendations and improvements.
Job Responsibilities: Assist SDIs Controllership in interpreting technical accounting questions (synonymous with a firms national office on technical advisory services) Participate in initiatives to innovate the technology that supports our financial and accounting processes Evaluate periodic operating results from the company-wide perspective through various overall analytical review techniques Assist with acquisition due diligence, integration post acquisition and determination of proper acquisition accounting treatment Routine interaction with SDIs financial leadership on accounting topics impacting the company Perform technical accounting research Coordinate the implementation of new accounting standards throughout the company Interface with external audit teams in administering our overall external audits Participate in SDIs sustainability initiatives Collaborate with numerous third-party experts (e.g.
valuation firms performing annual goodwill impairment analysis and purchase accounting valuations) Participate in numerous other special projects and ad hoc requests as directed Assist in facilitating our periodic Controllership Summits whereby the leadership of SDI provides direction and guidance to our entire Companys Controllership Become an expert pertaining to SDIs internal control environment Mentor SDI accounting and finance professionals, enhancing their development and advancement
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting Active CPA 7+ years of related public company accounting or corporate accounting experience, with at least 4 years technical accounting focus Strongly preferredheavy experience as client service professional in public accounting firm (Big 4) in a leadership role (e.g.
manager or senior manager level responsibilities) working on public company clients Extensive knowledge of U.S.
GAAP and public company reporting, with proven record of leadership pertaining to: Consolidation of a large number of subsidiaries Adoption of new accounting standards Technical accounting research Acquisition accounting Debt and/or stock offering Hedging activities Foreign subsidiary accounting and currency translations Accounting for intangible assets Other complex transactions Comprehensive understanding of internal controls over financial reporting, SOX and auditor testing related thereto Proven ability to collaborate, influence and lead numerous projects and complex responsibilities at that same time About the Company:

We have three reporting segments: steel operations, metals recycling operations, and steel fabrication operations.
