We are seeking a Manager of Accounting to join our Accounting Services team.
This role will be based in Atlanta, GA at our Downtown Corporate Headquarters, and LEED® Certified Building.
This role will drive value for Georgia-Pacific LLC by leading the Revenue Accounting team for the Consumer Products Business.
The position will lead a team of 4 accountants and interact with business leaders, IT, and our third-party business process outsourcer to ensure revenue and associated expenses are properly stated.
It provides an excellent opportunity to learn about advertising expenses and retail/trade programs offered to customers of a consumer products company (such as coupons, etc.).

A Day In The Life Typically Includes Monitor and perform month-end closing activities, including but not limited to journal entries, accruals and business reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and meeting closing deadlines.
Support the offshore accounting team; become an SME on offshore processes; review and approve desktop procedures and provide support during month-end close Provide ad hoc information and analysis to other departments (business finance, customer service, tax, etc.) Review balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are researched and resolved in a timely manner Create value through process improvement and standardization Work with external auditors and support annual audit process Review large volume of data using multiple systems to find discrepancies, follow up until resolution is in place Leadership, Supervision and Development of an Accounting team What You Will Need Education Required Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business Basic Qualifications At least 7 years of experience in a professional Accounting, Audit, or Financial Analysis role Previous supervisory experience; developing the talents of others and leading change Experience with general accounting functions (i.e.
general ledger, month-end close, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, account analysis) and GAAP Firm understanding of the design and purpose of internal financial controls (i.e.
understanding the purpose of internal controls, identifying gaps, ensuring controls are being maintained) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management across capabilities (IT, sales, etc.).
Clear understanding of integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems and database structure Aptitude and desire for problem solving, adopting and promoting the use of new technologies, learning new systems and improving processes through automation What Will Put You Ahead Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree, MBA or CPA certification Experience supporting offshore processes and communicating with remote teams Advanced Microsoft Office365 skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive Experience with Excel macros, SQL/VBA, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx and/or other data tools SAP, Infor or other large ERP; integrated general ledger system experience Experience working within an integrated accounting system, reconciling transactions between multiple systems, and system migration Previous Public Accounting or Large Company Corporate Accounting Experience Consumer Products or Manufacturing experience
