Johnson Financial Group: Municipal Fixed Income Portfolio Manager

Overview:Primary responsibility of the Municipal Fixed Income Portfolio Manager is to manage fixed income funds, assets and products for Johnson Financial Group (JFG) and on behalf of JFG clients.

The position also serves as the JFG fixed income expert and to be a resource for the Investment Research Division, JFG associates, and JFG clients.

Responsible for providing bond market insight, commentary, and actionable ideas on an ongoing basis.

Perform manager research and due diligence for mutual fund and separate account managers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the management of Johnson Financial Group’s fixed income funds, including strategy, research, trading and reporting.Conduct comprehensive manager research and due diligence via teleconference, meetings, and on-site visits to develop a high level of knowledge about each firm, team, philosophy, resources, process, personnel, and performanceMaintain and regularly update a list of approved fixed income fund and separate account managersEstablish core tactical and strategic fixed income allocations for JFG allocation models and collective fundsEvaluate fixed income securities during the new account “onboarding” process to identify securities with characteristics that are inconsistent with our quality, liquidity, structure and diversification standards/requirements.Collaborate with the IR team members and assist in the investment process as it pertains to our investment outlook, model allocations and strategic/tactical positioning, while maintaining a sharp focus on sound risk management principles.Support client facing associates (Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers and Sales) in their efforts to win new client relationships or retain existing client relationships.Proactively stay abreast of events and developments in the financial markets.JOB REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSB.A.

or B.S.

in business, economics or finance.7+ years of fixed income portfolio management experience; CFA preferredWorking knowledge of Bloomberg and Morningstar Advisor Workstation/Direct desired.Working knowledge of fixed income analytical applications such as BondEdgeHighly skilled at presenting to Investment Consultants, CIO’s, CFO’s, Finance Committees/Boards and other groups as it pertains to investment management and fixed income.Exhibit effective listening skills, solid problem solving and decision-making skills.Strong understanding of the business development process and the ability to collaborate with/and support JFG associates in their business development and client retention efforts.Understanding and strong working knowledge of MS Office products; ability to effectively utilize Bank and Wealth Operating Systems.
