Investment Banking Vice President, ECM

Group Description: The Jefferies Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) group originates and executes public and private equity offerings, as well as equity-linked financings for our global clients.

Our team partners with the firm’s investment banking professionals advising corporations, private companies, and financial sponsors globally on equity issuance and other aspects of the equity markets.

ECM professionals are organized by sector, product and region.

Our ECM team liaises with sales professionals, traders and research analysts in our global equities group.

The interaction between these groups provides us with excellent market intelligence, industry knowledge and execution capabilities.

Jefferies is consistently ranked as a leading underwriter of equities and is experienced in executing all equity products including IPOs, follow-ons, block trades, private placements and convertible securities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pitch and execute U.S.

  ECM deals including IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, block equity trades, convertible offerings, and other equity-related product offerings

• Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams
• Lead client meetings and drafting sessions
• Play an active role in the execution of mandated deals through client advisory work, the structuring and negotiation of legal documents and the coordination of distribution
• Examine the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes
• Maintain dialogue and relationships with existing ECM clients through continual marketing and advisory efforts with investment banking and financial sponsor teams, as well as the preparation of instructive materials and thoughtful analyses
• Prepare and participate in the delivery of client presentations
• Compiling a variety of financial analyses such as valuation, pro forma, and three statement operational/projections models
• Analyze business plans and participate in due diligence sessions
• Draft private and public marketing materials such as offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, etc.
• Manage and help develop associates and analysts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Investment Banking experience
• MBA degree (or equivalent graduate degree) and 3+ years of Investment Banking experience
• Direct experience in an Equity Capital Markets origination role is preferred
• Ability to develop strong and productive relationships with clients, senior bankers, and junior bankers
