www.meritcapitaladvisors.com Interested candidates are requested to submit a resume and cover to: infomeritcapitaladvisors.com JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSOCIATE and ANALYST Merit Capital Advisors, LLC seeks qualified Associate and Analyst candidates Background: Merit Capital Advisors, LLC (“Merit”) is seeking qualified Associate and Analyst candidates to join our team.

Merit is a boutique financial advisory firm providing mergers and acquisitions, project finance advisory, and strategic advisory services targeted to the energy sector.

Our focus is conventional and renewable power.

Spun out in April 2012 from The Dexia Group, a leading European bank and financial services company, Merit provides financial advisory services to a core group of clients in the energy sector.

Building on our track record of closed transactions, current backlog of engagements and our client relationships, we are seeking talented, highly motivated individuals with relevant skills as we aim to grow in size and scope of services.

Responsibilities: As an Associate or Analyst, you will be afforded a high level of responsibility including exposure to executing live transactions.

You may participate in all phases of a transaction including: preparing marketing materials and presentations, assisting with structuring transactions, performing extensive pro forma modeling and valuation, assisting with coordinating sales processes, conducting due diligence, attending negotiating sessions, participating in transaction documentation, and assisting with financial closing activities.

Team members also will have an opportunity to assist with marketing new business to a variety of entities (private equity, infrastructure and hedge funds, and other institutional investors; domestic and international utilities, gencos, and other strategic investors; and developers of renewable and conventional power projects).

Types of Transactions: Our business model’s success is based on developing key relationships to generate repeat business along with referrals.

In addition to being awarded and closing several mandates upon the launch of our firm, our prior experience includes the closing of numerous noteworthy transactions in this sector.

With Merit’s focus on the energy and power sector, the types of transactions that we are involved in include mergers and acquisitions for buyers and sellers; project finance advisory for development projects and acquisitions; and strategic advisory such as valuations and market entry services for new industry players such as foreign entrants.

Qualifications: The Associate will have a master degree (preferably MBA) and/or relevant industry expertise.

While not requiring a master degree, an Analyst should have worked previously for at least one year.

In either case, you will be afforded a high level of responsibility while gaining valuable training and building upon your professional experience.

Necessary Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will have superior analytical ability including experience with pro forma modeling that will be used in the context of project financings and mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, the candidate will have solid writing and research skills necessary to prepare offering memoranda, industry analyses and new business presentations.

Working in an entrepreneurial (somewhat unstructured) environment requires the candidate to exhibit a high energy level, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Compensation and Timing: Merit offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, skills, and effort (“merit”).

The Associate and Analyst positions require a start date as soon as practicable.
