Interim Accounting Manager

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager for a contract opportunity with one of our growing clients.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for directing the work activities of the accounting department in all aspects which includes financial reports preparation, month-end, AP/AR, payroll, internal controls, and external audit assistance.
This person will also contribute to the development of processes within the accounting department including identifying opportunities for improvements and ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls.
Other responsibilities of the contract role include:
Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, journal entries, and GL reconciliations Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely journal entries to the general ledger and oversee the month-end and year-end close process Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements Supervise and mentor staff in addition to establishing departmental goals Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Participate in the annual financial statement audits with the independent auditors Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Proactively investigate questionable data and trends and escalate findings where appropriate Collaborate with the planning team to develop and report on key performance indicators, monthly financial data, and forecasts to drive performance Collaborate with the automation of system processes and software implementations
Skills and experiences:
5+ years of accounting and finance experience Proven leadership and team management experience Advanced degree in Accounting or Business CPA or equivalent preferred Thorough knowledge of US GAAP principles Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel using pivot tables and v-lookups Experience using ERP software
– SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics suite
