Greenwich, CT Hedge Fund is seeking a Management Company Accountant
The Corporate Accountant will report to the Head of Corporate Accounting and work closely with members of the Corporate and Fund Accounting teams.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with other Corporate Accounting Team members in the ongoing operations of the management company including vendor invoicing, expense report processing, account reconciliations, quarterly/annual budget process and the annual audit
• Assist with the preparation of bank transfers and external wire instructions for the Management Company and Viking Funds.
• Ensure proper posting to general ledger accounts, validating departmental allocations and expense classifications
• Liaising with UK and HK foreign office administrators on all accounting, compliance and cash management related matters, including regulatory filings and capital requirement oversight
• Assist in the tracking and reporting around fixed asset procurement and disposal process.
Working closely with external auditors, Head of Tax Compliance, IT and Facilities.
• Various management company related tax filings including commercial rent tax, sales and use tax and personal property tax
• Foundation and 401(k) reporting including annual audits, board presentations and supporting tax schedules
• Assist peers with aspects of the soft dollar program.
Includes monitoring investment team’s research subscriptions, reconciliation of trade files and websites, analysis of broker reimbursements and vendor distributions
• Play an important role in efficiency initiatives, including IT projects, workflow optimization and vendor management
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
• 5+ years of public/private accounting experience
• Prior management company accounting or FP&A experience is a plus
• An undergraduate degree with a strong GPA
• CPA preferred
• Competency in budgeting, forecasting and cash management
• Proficient knowledge of Excel
