CFS of New York is teaming up with a well-regarded nonprofit focusing on being the leading provider of education, employment, and community support services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities and their families in New York City.
They’re seeking a Grant Accountant to join their Finance department.

The Firm is located in Midtown, NYC and for the foreseeable future will be working on a hybrid model.

Job Duties of the Grant Accountant will include:
Working on various grants and working on filing all funding and reporting for the DOE, IDEA, OPWDD and other city contracts
Responsible for effectively setting up the grants spreadsheets to ensure proper reporting.
Maintains the grants AR sub-ledger and ensures that the receivables are appropriately recorded and managed for the relevant grants.
Responsible for the submission of the monthly, quarterly, and annual claims to appropriate funding sources.
Responsible for posting all grants billing and associated cash receipts to the general ledger.
Prepares salary reclassification journal entries as needed.
Preparation of audit spreadsheets and reporting for all grants.
Preferred experience of the Grant Accountant:
2 years of relevant accounting experience preferably with a nonprofit organization
Strong Excel skills and experience working with an accounting system
Should be able to present, interpret and effectively communicate financial data.
