Overview:General Motors Financial is looking for an experienced senior analyst to support the Protection Products team.
The Sr Analyst, Insurance Finance is responsible for analysis, modeling, and reporting on factors regarding insurance product profitability and performance.
This team member will play an integral role in the development of the financial planning process as well as provide ad hoc profitability support.
Responsibilities will also include the creation and maintenance of a management reporting package, developing and tracking KPIs as well as summarizing and reporting information to a variety of internal clients.
This position will interact with many other departments in the interest of achieving the overall company objectives.Responsibilities:JOB DUTIESAnalyze monthly/quarterly/yearly financial results and communicate important trends and measurements to managementReview profitability models to ensure consistency with actuals and forecastsReview profitability of current and proposed dealer relationships to ensure adequate risk and returnWork closely with insurance companies and third-party administrators to support ongoing activities and analysisWork with other departments in the interest of achieving assigned objectivesMaintain processes for tracking projects; communicate results to managementSupport ad hoc projects or special assignments as requiredPerform other duties as assignedConform with all company policies and proceduresREPORTING RELATIONSHIPVP Insurance FinanceQualifications:KnowledgeMust have experience in forecasting and financial modelingMust be innovative at analyzing issues using sound judgmentSkillsProven skills in spreadsheet modeling and the ability to operate in the banking/corporate environmentExperience with SAS, Power BI, and SQL-based querying is a plusSuperior oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well with all levels of managementAbility to use good judgment in making independent decisionsMust be deadline orientedEducationBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMaster’s Degree MBA or Finance preferredExperience5+ years Finance and/or analytics experience preferred
