Essential Duties Provide exceptional customer service that goes beyond the transaction.
Establish rapport by listening carefully to better understand your customer’s financial priorities and create a personalized experience.
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered by Essex Bank to educate customers appropriately.
Accurately and efficiently count currency.
Achieve individual sales and referral goals by utilizing cross-selling techniques, outbound telephone calls, customer needs assessments, as well as identifying and acting on opportunities to refer customers to associates in other lines of business.
Accurately and efficiently perform all teller transactions such as accepting deposits and loan payments, properly cashing checks, preparing cashier’s checks, redeeming savings bonds, and creating wire transfers.
Achieve operational accuracy by meeting goals relating to balancing teller drawers, opening and documenting accounts, and placing holds.
Complete all required internal and external training for job function on time.
Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect both our customers and Essex Bank.
Be available to work a flexible schedule Monday thru Friday and Saturdays, as necessary.
Perform other essential duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities Actively participate in sales and service meetings and offer creative ideas.
Assist management/bank associates with activities as needed.
Actively participate in events within the communities we serve to promote Essex Bank.
Effectively communicate in person, over the phone, and by email with customers, your team, and bank leadership.
Learn, adapt, and support new systems or processes as they emerge.
Possess a basic understanding of personal finances and concept of budgeting.
Education/Experience High school graduate or equivalent required.1-2 years of previous customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred.
Knowledge of banking procedures and regulations preferred.
Basic understanding of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Familiarity with bank software applications such as Jack Henry, Vertex, and Silverlake platforms, preferred.
