Work Hours/Shift
Full Time: Mon thru Fri 8 to 4:30
You Will Be Responsible For
Ensures ordering physician is currently credentialed with AdventHealth. Ensures all required documentation for infusions has been provided from non-oncology referring physicians.
Assesses the need for pre-certification and authorization while following established guidelines for each patient in order to ensure payment from payors.
Ensures all pre-certification or authorization requirements are met according to insurance specifications.
Reviews with patient options of financial assistance, i.e., state and local agencies, indigent care.
Applies for free or replacement drug for qualifying patients.
Assists self-pay patients in completing the patient financial questionnaire.
Refers patient to Oncology social worker for assistance as applicable.
Ensures the patient is well informed about their financial responsibility. Maintains and monitors patient database to ensure follow ups and recertifications/authorizations remain current.
Ensures all insurance information is up to date and patient is eligible before infusion.
Communicates with non-oncology referral infusion patients in a timely manner for scheduling. Documents all patient contact in the computer system.
Prepares patient itemized bill upon request; explain charges, payments, and adjustments.
Qualifications
What You Will Need
Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing required High School graduate or equivalent required One year experience required in medical billing and insurance
Job Summary
Provide financial counseling to oncology patients in accordance with facility policies. Assists patients with obtaining financial assistance for patient financial responsibilities.
