Overview
The Financial Analyst Senior Develops and maintains financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, profitability, etc.
Prepares analytical financial reports to management.
Through independent analysis of financial statements or sets of data draws conclusions and recommends strategic actions.
Independently identifies areas of further analyses.
Works on the implementation of new financial models for the bank.
Participates in meetings with management to present financial models and results.
Excellent analytical skills, independent judgment and discretion required.
Strong PC skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with Wolters Kluwer ERP systems (CCH Tagetik & OneSumX) desired, but not required.
- Prepares and maintains the financial models used for the annual budget, forecasting and 5-year projections; defining business assumptions, gathering input from key stakeholders, creating presentations and explaining results to Management, Head Office, Regulators, etc.
- Prepares financial presentations for diverse shareholders (Board, Management, Head Office, Regulators, etc.)
- Prepares strategic studies on profitability, fee generation, loan pricing, cost saving, new business opportunities, etc.
- Monitors variances versus budget, provides explanations and follow up on discrepancies.
- Performs data mining, querying, turning data into information, and recommending business actions, etc.
- Participates in special projects and ad-hoc requests.
- Works on implementation and management of new models for the Bank.
- Formulates independent and new reporting analysis to improve information available to Executive & LOB management.
- Learns how to use department tools and participates in the implementation of them (Tagetik, OneSumX, Prologue, Qlik, etc.).
Qualifications
- 5-7 years in Financial Planning, Analysis and Modeling with sound knowledge of financial statements, banking operations, methods and accounting practices.
- Experience working on financial institutions, preferably Banks.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills, independent judgment and discretion required.
- Expert in Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, ifs & sumifs), Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with BI tools (Qlik, Power BI, Thinkcell, etc.)
- Experience with Wolters Kluwer ERP systems (CCH Tagetik & OneSumX) desired, but not required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in in Finance / Accounting/ Economics
- Master’s degree in Finance / Accounting/ Economics preferred
