Position: Financial Analyst I Department: Grants and Contracts

Status: Full Time

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Interpret and enforce grant policies and procedures of external sponsored agencies and Tuskegee University.

Prepare financial reports and invoices on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis as required by assigned funding agencies.

Prepare monthly drawdown reports for reimbursable expenditures for grants on Letter of Credits.

Record grants receivables for assigned grants accounts monthly.

Prepare budget revision journal entries and post to the general ledger at the request of the principal investigators.

Review and approve all expenditure documents for cost principles compliance (personnel action forms, check requests, requisitions, student scholarships, student employment, etc.) Reconcile and monitor grant expenditures, revenues, and receivables monthly.

Monitor for unallowable cost transactions and prepare necessary corrections, monthly.

Assist faculty with post award financial analysis related to grants and contracts.

Maintain grants and contract files for assigned funding agencies for at least 3 years.

Calculate and record indirect cost to the general ledger monthly.

Closeout grants and contract Learn and apply emerging technologies and, as necessary, to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field Minimum knowledge of practices and procedures in grants and contracts Good oral and written communication skills Experience working with and interpreting federal regulations and policies Experience with Microsoft Office Provide excellent customer service in a courteous manner Must be a team player
Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience
