The MathWorks Finance team is responsible for accounting and reporting on the Company’s financial results, while also identifying and delivering meaningful insights into the underlying business operations.
As a member of this team, you will partner with a collaborative global team to ensure we effectively use technology to efficiently prepare and report on our results, research, document and analyze accounting considerations related to business decisions or changes in accounting standards, and support the creation of the annual US GAAP revenue and expense plan.The role requires an interest and ability to work with systems to efficiently produce and analyze data, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills to gather and evaluate information, present findings and discuss recommendations.
The goal for this role is to use data and discussion to help address key organizational issues.Prepare timely and accurate financial results, metrics and reporting in support of monthly and quarterly close processes, in accordance with US GAAP and company policyDrive internal process improvements and identify areas to increase the use of systems and automation to expedite the ability to aggregate, analyze and report key dataDevelop a detailed understanding of business drivers and prepare in-depth analysis to detect trends and key variables that will assist managers in making informed decisionsPartner with members of our Finance and Operations Teams to ensure the propriety of pricing and revenue recognition for complex customer facing arrangementsAssist with projects in various capacities from the execution of tasks on larger cross functional projects to project management activities on smaller projectsA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferredExperience in financial reporting (preferably internal management reporting)Working knowledge of accounting terms and processes, with a focus on US GAAP and revenue recognitionEffective communication skills with all levels of personnel is essentialCandidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.A bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master’s degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
