The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The Technology Transformation Finance Lead, reporting to our Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, will work with financial professionals and business leaders to create the overall Finance technology strategy and deployment roadmap enabling the realization of 3M’s finance, multi-year journey to optimize end to end and underlying ERP system.
You will lead the daily management of high priority deployment and other digital transformation change efforts and will provide leadership to improve processes, enhance systems, realign the finance organization to realize opportunities to redefine the way our work is performed.
You will also be an important catalyst to guide thinking on the “art of the possible” and architecting solutions that support future needs.
You will partner with controllers, tax, treasury, business and operations finance professionals, as well as IT professionals in the design, implementation, and evolution of change strategies and plans to inspire and motivate people to embrace the changes that are required to move 3M’s operating and financial systems forward and support our complexity at scale.
You will partner with the global finance teams to drive change in the most effective way possible, deploying traditional project management and agile methodologies.
You will partner to influence program inter-dependencies, enforce change management efforts, and communicate the success of these operational outcomes.
You will use out of the box ideas to ensure successful collaboration across finance and IT to transform our processes and will assist to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to achieve its broader transformation goals while integrating and guiding the digital technology foundation.
We are looking for someone who can effect change management creatively within complex dynamic organizations and communicate the value proposition to promote internal agreement.
Partner with finance teams and broader functions, including IT, to execute the modernization our processes through the company’s ERP deployment plans and digital transformation Partner with all senior Finance Leaders to align with the broader business and transformation strategy Understand the requirements and priorities around deliverables for systems deployments and specific finance transformation.
Identify the issues, targeted goals and timelines.
Create strategies and tactical blueprints that help set the roadmap Develop and crystallize goals and deliverables with partners, ensuring highest potential for value delivery Lead the deployments, management, tracking and communication status of workstream efforts, program risks/issues, and progress towards strategic goals Manage and drive key decisions around the program(s) including scope, budget, staffing, interdependencies and timing Partner with finance leads and sponsors to determine appropriate ways to navigate complex issues and change management agendas Collaborate across finance and IT to implement digital technologies that improve operational effectiveness, compliance and reporting, incorporating digital enablers for end-to-end finance processes by assessing challenges/needs/gaps Diagnose root problems and recommend end-to-end solutions that use digital workflows and tools and harness the power of robotic process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to reinvent and accelerate our work Be an advisor to other finance transformation efforts by sharing experience and ideas on what the art of possible is to transform the utility and influence of the finance team Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the CFO ecosystem, and broader marketplace Participate in process development and improvement discussions to help determine performance metrics Identify process opportunities for functional and logical system design and implementation Support the final reporting decisions and recommendations to ensure quality, delivery and documentation of all the deliverables Partner with finance and IT to identify and integrate technologies to produce and consume data enhancing our business intelligence and reporting Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent fields (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution Ten (10) years experience working in finance organizations or advising CFOs on Finance transformation, process improvements, financial planning redesign, service delivery model design and implementation, and other essential elements of the finance team Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Master’s degree in Finance or Business (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution Experience with finance transformation and process improvement using leading edge technologies incorporating robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence Must have advanced knowledge with general accounting, processes and key terminology related to accounting concepts Understand advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, predictive analytics, data visualizations, robotics and artificial intelligence to influence Finance direction Understanding of finance technologies (process, planning analytics, core Financial, BI tools) and ERP technologies (SAP), SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Anaplan, Blackline, Robotic Process Automation (Blue Prism, etc.) Experience with finance operating models and supporting organization structures, and process best practices Experience with the design and implementation of financial systems Experience in continuous improvement programs, root cause analysis, and project management Outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion Project management for large scale business transformation Ability to assess, develop and have experience working with systems and implementing internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxley requirements) Travel: As needed, but less likely given current travel constraints Relocation Assistance: Not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

The targeted compensation range for this position is $205,193
– $250,792.
This targeted compensation range is specific to Colorado residents and can vary based on qualifications, business needs, etc.
