Description

The Finance Manager position in the Supply Chain Management Finance department will be responsible for the calculation, analysis and reporting of National Volume discount (NVD) and managing the manual direct data collection, processing, invoicing, systems and reporting functions.

  • Develop and manage the monthly supplier purchases file communication and reporting processes ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Work with National Purchasing Managers and supplier partners to ensure all programs are reporting at the level of detail required and on a timely basis
  • Review new supplier items and code for calculation as required
  • Reconcile supplier and distributor rebate payments
  • Communicate and escalate issues to the appropriate source ensuring that all issues are resolved in a prompt manner
  • Manage manual direct invoicing, accrual, reporting and collection functions
  • Calculate, analyze and report on National Volume Discounts (NVD) defined and implied in our vendor/distributor contracts
  • Prepare, present and discuss monthly NVD performance for the Canadian lines of business
  • Work with corporate finance on NVD budgeting and projection
  • Elevate the finance support function through the identification and implementation of process and system efficiencies
  • Train and mentor staff on new procedures.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education with finance and systems experience
  • Professional accounting designation preferred (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
  • Financial and process management experience with strong analytical abilities
  • Minimum 5 years work experience with at least 2 years as a functional manager or at a Senior Financial Analyst level
  • Demonstrated experience in the foodservice or CPG industries is a definite asset
  • Strong technical skills including advanced Excel & PowerPoint (Microsoft Access would be an asset)
  • Good knowledge of retail or foods service products and categories
  • Confident, organized self starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Must be detail oriented with ability to multi task, perform in a fast paced environment, exercise good judgment and fully participate in the elevation and success of the purchasing department
