Job Description: Finance Manager/Controller
Position reports to the President/CEO
Responsibilities
The Finance Manager/Controller is responsible for all financial systems, financial/treasury activities, financial reporting, internal controls, budgets and forecasting, regulatory compliance, audits, tax activities, 401k plan administration, administrative policies and programs, and IT administration.
In the past this position has served as Corporate Treasurer.
Key Activities
Oversee all aspects of general and operational accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory management, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
Responsible for all financial matters, regulatory compliance, external audits, tax activities, 401k administration, and to establish company-wide financial & administrative policies and programs.
Oversee payroll processing functions.
Collaborate with outside IT firm to suitably manage IT infrastructure, safeguard network, hardware purchases, maintain and ensure appropriate software upgrades of major systems.
Direct monthly, quarterly and annual closings, Board of Director/Shareholder Financial Reporting Packages, as well as preparation of financial statements in compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
Prepare and deliver key financial performance metrics coupled with timely and accurate financial reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position.
Establish and maintain systems and internal controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and properly safeguard company assets.
Supervise Accounting & Payroll staff.
Ad-Hoc Projects as business needs command.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business/ Finance or Accounting; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
8+ years experience in financial analysis and planning, preparation of financial statements, inventory reporting, cost accounting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting; preferably in manufacturing environment.
Experience with Regulatory Compliance, 401k Administration, and Payroll Processing functions.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Prior experience managing direct reports.
Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial strategies within a manufacturing environment desirable.
Excellent working knowledge of, and hands-on experience with integrated financial and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics (GP) accounting software, Exact MAX ERP, SAP Crystal Reports a significant advantage.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
Experience in Information Technology administration and hands-on experience leading systems implementation and upgrades.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills required.
Leads by example with ability to apply sensible judgment.
