Job Description
Summary
Provide support to Field Operations group, through information analyses (e.g.
current processes, actual performance vs.
prior month, prior year and budget), preparation of operational data/analyses for publication to various departments throughout company (Management, Operations, and Sales) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include managing all financial aspects of the month end close process, along with providing all day to day support for the field operations teams within the vertical market that is assigned.
Essential Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the month end close process for assigned vertical market.
• Prepare monthly analysis of revenue, cost of goods sold and gross margin against prior month, prior year and budget, providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate the risks.
• Partner with Operations in determining financial impact due to changes in business models.
• Assist in month end close process by calculating accrual requirements, prepare journal entries to properly reflect fiscal results, and variance reporting
• Perform monthly Revenue and COGS forecast for assigned vertical with Service Delivery teams.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly metrics/ dashboards; understand all key financial (KPI) metrics and relationships.
• Responsible for ensuring that operating results are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
• Identify, investigate, and analyze potential operational improvement.
As appropriate, based on findings make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.)
Basic Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance.
CPA or MBA preferred
• Minimum 7 years of financial analyst experience, preferably in private corporate industry
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls have proven business analysis and judgment skills with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial culture and ideally have previously guided a large divestiture business through the growth and stabilization curve
• Experience with JD Edwards a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly in regard to presenting the results of analyses to management.
• Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
