We at Hunter Hamilton are teaming up with a driven Health company that would like to add an Accounting Specialist to their growing team!
GENERAL SUMMARY
In this role you will lead all aspects of providing accounting support to controller. Perform accounting, cash management and clerical functions. Prepares and processes accounts payable and commissions invoices/expense reports and subsequent related payments. Maintains vendor and employee files. Handle and collect overdue accounts receivables. Assists with 1099 reporting, operating expense support, and check tracing requests. Prepares job related year-end audit schedules. Performs reconciliations on assigned accounts. Maintains financial security by following internal accounting procedures. Records and prepares entries to the General Ledger.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Record and analyze activity for assigned accounts.
2. Reconcile assigned accounts.
3. Review calculations for commissions and ensure payments are processed accurately.
4. Enters payable information into accounts payable system and maintains vendor/employee files.
5. Process accounts payable checks on a weekly basis for both vendors and employee expense reimbursements including the processing of any subsequent voided payments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Good verbal and written communication skills.
2. Good analytical skills with Financial/Accounting related data.
3. Good digital literacy including spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and word processing (Microsoft Word).
4. Must possess the ability to optimally coordinate and prioritize workload and handle time accordingly.
5. Ability to work as a team member.
6. Experience with a computerized accounting system, Oracle Financial system desirable.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
– Work requires an associate degree level education or training plus approximately 1-2 years of previous related experience.
– Experience in Accounting.
– PC experience with proficiency in Excel.
