Federal Acquisition & Contracts Specialist (Senior Consultant)

This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted July 28, 2021.

Responsibilities The Acquisition & Contracts Specialist will function at a Guidehouse Senior Consultant staff level.

Senior Consultants are second level non-management consultants that will have responsibility for client management, solution implementation and generation of project results.

You will own project workstreams and interact with the client daily to ensure engagement success.

This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders.

The Acquisition & Contracts Specialist expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to client and internal executives.

You will lead, coach and mentor consultants and ensure quality deliverables.

As you hone your project management skills, leadership abilities and the aptitude for managing multiple workstreams, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Managing Consultant staff level.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of 6 years work experience that must include 2 years as a Federal contracting officer (CO) / 1102 job series Demonstrate strong knowledge of the contracting officer’s role to include necessary information and documentation to be successful in the role Strong understanding of the impact of policy and guidance on the execution of contracts Familiarity with requirements outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) for procuring and/or acquiring services and materials Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with team members in order to effectively prioritize time and resources Ability to engage in a working group session Ability to provide input and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders via working group sessions Currently reside or ability to relocate to the Washington, DC area Ability to meet requirements and be awarded a Public Trust Nature of contract requires US Citizenship at time of application, may consider US Permanent Resident and US Naturalized Citizen Preferred Qualifications In addition to the above listed requirements: Experience with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) policy and guidance Experience developing forms and templates to support policy Experience with Adobe Professional Additional Requirements The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
