Responsibilities

The Fair and Responsible Banking Manager will assist in the implementation and execution of CIBC Bank USA’s Fair and Responsible Banking Program, including Fair Lending, Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA) and Third Party Risk Management. The Associate Managing Director is responsible for assisting in the implementation and execution of the programs as the second line of defense, which include but are not limited to activities such as:

• Act as subject matter expert and advise the lines of business and operational areas on Fair and Responsible Banking issues, including business initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Partner with regional lines of business to be a trusted advisor and ensure compliance with all fair and responsible banking laws and regulations and provide ongoing regulatory guidance.
• Assist in further development of Fair & Responsible Banking governance framework.
• Provide strong leadership skills in spearheading discussions with senior management, engaging stakeholders, clearly articulating issue and identifying collaborative solutions to mitigate risk.
• Provide support in matters regarding statistical analysis, regression and model risk management.
• Assist in conducting detailed and rigorous risk assessments regarding business and operational processes, procedures, and policies; analyzes results and makes recommendations on the adequacy and reliability of controls.
• Conduct transaction level and complaint reviews to assess alignment with policy.
• Assist in training first line and operational areas on matters regarding Fair & Responsible Banking, CRA and HMDA
• Research regulations, staying apprised of regulatory developments and conduct impact analysis for respective lines of business.
• Assist in the development and preparation of Board and management reporting on applicable program components and metrics.
• Assist in the coordination of audit and exam materials.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of all consumer protection laws and regulations
• 10+ years’ experience in regulatory compliance
• CRCM and Advanced Degree preferred
• Advanced MS Office skills required
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications
• Excellent project management skills to lead, track and report on initiatives to completion
• Strong research, analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and issues for escalation to management, as necessary
• Excellent ability to manage workload and shift priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic and rapidly-changing environment
