We are currently seeking candidates for a full-time (40 hours/week) Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Specialist position located in any one of our 8 offices.
This position will work closely with the Manager of DEI, Chief Talent Officer, and the Chair of the DEI Initiative.
The DEI Specialist will be an integral member of the Talent Management Team, focusing on diversity initiatives.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
Review and analyze diversity statistics and prepare tailored narrative responses (in compliance with the Mansfield Rule initiative) for industry surveys, questionnaires and written inquiries regarding DEI, professional development, and recruiting.
Monitor the Diversity & Inclusion spending budget, including tracking actual spend against the annual budget, reporting budget status and trends monthly to the
Manager of DEI, and work with Finance personnel and other budget owners to reconcile and resolve discrepancies or issues.
Manage the implementation and assist in the development of diversity events, trainings, programs, and initiatives with the Manager of DEI, Chief Talent Officer, and DEI Initiative Chair and collaborate with the Manager of DEI to execute related strategies that benefit both attorneys and staff.
Liaise with vendors and consultants to implement diversity programs.
Monitor and analyze internal retention and attrition trends of attorneys from underrepresented populations and women lawyers.
Advise and support the creation and maintenance of robust, up-to-date current and historical diversity records.
Update and maintain various sections of the diversity & inclusion intranet and website pages (including an events calendar, leadership and membership directories, alumni directories, the language on programs and partnerships, photo galleries, etc.).
Participate in various internal events and meetings as well as community, law school, and client outreach efforts on an as-needed basis.
Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional administrative experience.
A Bachelor’s degree and law firm experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with database management and at least an intermediate skill level with Excel is required.
Familiarity with advanced Excel functions is a plus.
This role demands strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills.
Serious candidates will display a desire to be proactive and a team-oriented attitude.
The nature of the work requires the ability to efficiently complete tasks under pressure of short deadlines and adjust priorities with short notice.
Impeccable attention to detail is critical to success in this role.
Scheduled events and workload will often require the DEI Specialist to work more than 40 hours per week and/or to adjust their work schedule as needed.
Occasional travel will also be necessary.
