Overview
The Director Service Line Finance Operations is the senior finance person and a key member of the leadership team for the service line(s) they support.
Key constituents include the service line (SL) Executive, SL Chief, University Department Chair, other SL Finance Directors and Site-based Finance Directors.
Success will be dependent on an ability to leverage matrixed resources inside and outside of Finance to drive strong business results.
We are recruiting for 5 Director roles to support our Service Line structure which includes:
Cancer Care Behavioral Health Women’s & Children’s Musculoskeletal Surgical/Medical Specialties Heart & Vascular
Based in the Twin Cities Metro area, this position will require residency within proximity of the workplace.
As this position offers some ability to telecommute, it is the expectation the following requirements of the remote work policy will be met, including but not limited to:
Remote workspace that is clean, safe, and professional.
Maintains an internet connection consistent with Fairview standards at remote workspace.
Remain productive and responsive during their scheduled work hours.
Attend primary Fairview location, as needed.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Take ownership for all financial aspects of SL operations and performance Facilitate an understanding of SL operating and financial performance for operators who impact results Play a leadership role on SL leadership team Partner with finance and operations leaders in acute, ambulatory and support functions to optimize the impact SL activities have on system-wide financial results Collaborate with SL leaders, Business Development leaders, Medical school leaders, physicians and others to analyze, model and implement new business and new clinical research opportunities within the JCE (Joint Clinical Enterprise) Be a leader in driving clinical productivity for the SL across all provider employment homes Lead financial and coordinate operational aspect of SL planning and forecasting processes.
Work with acute and ambulatory leaders to ensure SL initiatives translate to actionable targets Help deploy and monitor Fairview’s internal controls, including policies, procedures and practices Effectively develop finance team members’ technical skills and ability to understand system interdependencies, promoting a team approach with other areas of Fairview.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area 7 or more years of finance experience including support of an operations leader 3 or more years of leadership experience Strong demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills and experience Demonstrated ability to build relationships with and positively influence operations leaders Ability to synthesize financial and operating data into concise and actionable information for financial and non-financial users Strong curiosity and results orientation
