Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

American Queen Voyages

This is a Full-time position in New Albany, IN posted February 3, 2022.

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis has responsibility for total cash management, cash forecasting, working capital management and financial analysis. Will work under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance & Accounting.

Job Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and manage financial forecasts; prepare and manage cash flow projections daily/weekly/monthly; manage daily cash management and treasury functions; perform financial review and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain monthly forecast and annual operating budget.
  • Manage all financial planning and analysis on an ongoing basis, including daily debriefing and ongoing reporting.
  • Prepare and update spreadsheet model used for financial forecasting.
  • Collect and analyze financial data used for financial forecast.
  • Review financial forecast with Management and certain outside parties as applicable.
  • Prepare and update weekly cash flow forecast model.
  • Prepare daily cash summary report.
  • Monitor daily and weekly cash disbursements.
  • Communicate with cash management bank and lenders as to treasury function.
  • Prepare documents used for revolving line of credit transactions.
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly budget to actual reports to management and department heads.
  • Research variances and work with controller to discuss findings; work with appropriate parties to minimize issues in order to provide accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with other finance/accounting projects, functions and overflow as applicable.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education:                                                                         

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or other highly analytics-related degree required

  •  MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance, Marketing/Sales preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Previous experience in Travel and Hospitality industry a plus

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven work-related analytical experience

  • Current experience in a reservations or revenue position

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

  • Experience with SEAWARE a plus

  • Understanding of revenue management techniques and strategies

Experience:

  •  7+ years of financial experience with at least three years in treasury or a treasury-related role

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution

  •  Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures

  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Other: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Business travel may be required
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing
