Francis DeSales High School is seeking its next Director of Finance.
Reporting to the President and as a member of a six-person leadership team, the successful candidate is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the school consistent with sound business practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and corporate policies and procedures of the school and the Archdiocese of Louisville.?The Director?will provide?the school President, Finance Committee and Board of Directors with recommendations, analyses, and information pertinent to the attainment of business and financial objectives.??This individual will develop and maintain a system of internal control, and automated and manual information systems.??To?assist?with?strategic?and budget planning, the director will provide relevant?short
– and long-range?financial projections.?
Along with stated financial responsibility, the Director of Finance?will also guide Human Resources policies, including but not limited to, hiring and retention practices, employee performance, compensation, and coordination of benefits.
All?auxiliary services, including the caf?
and campus store, will require financial oversight from the Director of Finance.?The Associate Director of Business, Cafeteria Manager and the Campus Store Manager all report directly to the Director of Finance.
?The President, Board Treasurer and Finance Committee will be the primary source of support and guidance for the Director of Finance.??CANDIDATE PROFILE?The ideal candidate would have the attributes and?competencies?necessary for success with?the following?primary?duties and?responsibilities:???Direct all aspects of finance and accounting for the school and publish monthly financial reports and analyses?Coordinate activities related to the annual outside audit?Provide leadership in the development of the operating and capital budgets and strategic plan?Manage the school’s financial assistance program?Formulate action plans supporting key strategic objectives of the school?Manage human resource practices, such as employee recruitment and retentionMaintain the corporate human resource policies and procedures manual?Maintain personnel records and manage the school’s benefits package?Supervise the business office, cafeteria, and campus store personnel?Any other duties as assigned by the President?PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS?The ideal candidate will have the following?qualifications:?Minimum of five years progressive accounting and systems experience?Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting (preferably accounting)?Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems and opportunities?Thorough knowledge of automated and manual information systems?Excellent oral and written communications skills?Thorough knowledge of Human Resources Management?practicesCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSSt.
Francis DeSales High School is offering a competitive salary in the range of $70,000
– $75,000, commensurate with experience.
