Overview
Job Summary:
Serves as the primary advisor to the President/CEO and Vice Presidents on all matters pertaining to the financial and strategic operations of the Facility.
Supervises, directs and oversees all financial activities of the hospital, including the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and forecasts for future growth, services and general economic outlook.
Reviews all financial reports to analyze projected revenues and expenses against actual performance.
Coordinates with the Executive Team to determine priorities and planning related to financial performance.
Serves as the liaison to Central Business Services on all financial issues.
Serves as the Corporate Responsibility Officer for the hospital.
Responsible for the development of the three-year Strategic Plan and Annual Strategic Operations Plan.
Works with the Executive Team on identifying new strategies to develop on an ongoing basis.
Serves as main staff to the Strategic Planning Committee and the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board.
Oversees the Materials Management department/function of the hospital.
Has full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial management information as required by law and necessary for effective management of the Hospital.
Ensure the effective cost/benefit analysis of the Hospital’s contractual agreements.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a health related field is required.
Master’s degree and CPA certification, Fellowship in HFMA strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of ten (10)-years experience as a senior financial executive, rising to Director of Finance in a hospital or healthcare delivery system with comparable size and complexity to Facility Hospital.
Experience working within a shared services or matrix reporting environment for “back office” functions such as revenue cycle, billing, general ledger, accounting and risk management.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Fellowship in HFMA strongly preferred
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: Solid track record of improving organizational efficiency and productivity and will have demonstrated the ability to use productivity tools to facilitate cultural change in the organization.
Demonstrated commitment to quality, community service, productivity and continuous improvement.
