Position Summary: The position is responsible for the overall Accounting operations, external and internal reporting, maintenance of a system of accounting recordings and comprehensive set of controls and budgets.

This role will lead the internal Accounting team, as well as the external reporting teams.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans and directs the work of the accounting function for the organization.
• Develop/Implement strategies, Large scale initiatives, lead financial reviews, etc.
• Maintains the integrity of the financial accounting system and produces reports for management use.
• Oversees all accounting transactions related to the general ledger, revenue recognition, contractual allowances accounts receivables, accounts payables, purchasing, payroll, leases and fixed assets.
• Performs financial analyses and makes recommendations on new product lines and changes to existing product lines.
• Ensures financial compliance and timely reporting of the company’s monthly close process and financial results.
• Lead accounting staff to include selection, work allocation, training, coaching and mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation and feedback and corrective action.
• Collaborate with Athletico management team to develop and implement operational plans
• Establish system controls for new systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
• Lead the adoption of new accounting policies and Collaborate with FP&A, Operational teams and other teams for improved internal reporting.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business is required
  • MBA preferred
• Work Experience:
  • 10 years of experience of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a public accounting background
  • Experience in multi-location business
  • Previous management experience required
  • Ability to coach others to instill a sense of responsibility, uses ownership as a way to empower people toward greater results
• Certification/Licensure:
  • CPA designation required
• Knowledge and Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including proficiency with Excel and MS Word
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger, banking, accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
  • Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842 required

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

• Ability to fulfill office activities including but not limited to remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e.

  while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.

• Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
