WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As the  Director, Americas Finance – Pricing, Contracts and Analysis, you’ll join our growing team. Reporting to the CFO Americas and collaborating with Legal, Finance and members of Bain’s Consulting Leadership Team, in a new key contributor role designed to drive the accounting and financial analysis of commercial terms related to a subset of client contracts across various service lines in the Americas. As a thought leader on commercial terms, and business partner to the Leadership Team, you will be on point for effective communication of a wide range of technical issues, analysis and risks.

As a successful candidate for the role you will also work seamlessly with Global and Americas Finance colleagues to analyze issues, develop recommendations, design process solutions and ensure implementation of approved changes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Support negotiation of commercial contract terms and establish a foundation of repeatable policies and processes in preparation for adding an Analyst in 2021 and expanded capacity over time as Leadership Team demand escalates.

  • Work effectively with Bain’s client facing, legal and finance leaders to review commercial terms of proposals and draft contracts , identify issues and provide guidance and advice in support of discussion with clients, to finalize contracts in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide support to client and Office Heads (Partners), Directors and CFO in the path to proposal, proposal and contracting stage of client engagement, including commenting on pricing and proposal contract terms
  • Proactively review existing contracts and amendments to identify open issues and address with Bain Leadership Team as required to ensure timely contract renewals
  • Proactive partner support to avoid expiration of client contracts or rate cards

Drive system improvements in full revenue cycle

Work effectively with Americas and Global Finance to define records, systems, processes and control innovations as needed for new service lines, or to improve an existing core business process approach

Metrics

  • Drive the development of metrics, dashboards and reports to drive revenue cycle execution process enhancements and provide insight into valuable data for management planning
  • Drive quality standards in execution

Perform various ad hoc activities as required for finance and other internal/external stakeholders

ABOUT YOU

Education

  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance or Economics
  • Preferred but not required: CPA and/ or MBA

Experience

  • Required: 10+ years of progressive work experience in Finance roles including responsibility for providing senior management team support
  • Preferred but not required: Manager-level experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm combined with industry experience focused on commercial terms and analysis; LATAM/Canada experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of accounting, controls, financial principles and analysis, combined with experience in applying this knowledge to develop practical recommendations to business situations and communicate them effectively to key contacts from direct reports through senior leadership team customers
  • Knowledge of GAAP requirements including revenue recognition
  • Demonstrated comprehension of financial and legal concepts that impact contract terms and conditions
  • Strong process management skills
  • Applicants must have strong analytical, communication, conceptual thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated ability to envision the “big picture” while maintaining close attention to detail
  • Experience managing people both directly and indirectly in a project or team environment (however, this role will not initially have any direct reports)
  • Advanced experience with various software applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to operate in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project/work activities and manage multiple priorities
