Dealership Accountant (Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Phoenix, AZ):
Dealership Accountant is a mid-level position that ensures timely, accurate and consistent recording of dealership transactions. This is a traditional accounting role that manages transactional posting of dealership activities. Accounting acumen is required. High performers will build upon their accounting & financial acumen while also building relationships and influential leadership skills. This will serve them well on a path to an Accounting Manager Role or if coupled with Automotive and Business acumen on the path to a Business Manager.
The Dealership Accountant reports to the Business Manager or Accounting Manager.
Position Overview
Area of Responsibility
* Posting of New & Used Car Deals
* Submission of Service Contracts
* Submission of Warranty Contracts
* Recording of wholesale vehicle sales & purchases
* Recording of used car purchases
* Request and process lien payoff
* Processing of cash receipts
* Collection of dealership wholesale & retail AR balances
* Refunds: 8300, Warranty Cancellations
* Regional check runs*
* Processing and payment of vendor invoices*
* FTC, RDR, Rebate & Bank Reconciliations
* Schedule reviews and maintenance
* Accounting for manufacturer monies
* Balance Intercompany
* Sales Tax*
* Other duties as assigned

The Dealership Controller reports to the Area Controller.
Position Overview
Area of Responsibility
* Ensure timely and accurate posting of all store transactions
* Maintain financial controls according to Company and manufacturer requirements
* Maintain a positive Office culture, embracing the core values
* Create and maintain position outlines for office staff
* Ensure team is staffed with quality employees at the proper wage
* Recruit, hire and train office positions as needed
* Identify and train AOM and OM candidates for advancement opportunities, including cross training in all positions
* Maintain semi-monthly communication with Senior OM regarding opportunities and victories
* Participate in regular National OM communications
* Notify Internal Audit and Regional Controllers of all external (manufacturer, DMV, etc.) audit notifications and finding
* Manage lender relationships, serving as point contact for partners. Negotiate financing instruments and maintain / improve banking relationships

Requirements:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* 18 years or older
* Possess an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license in state of residence
* A criminal history background check will be conducted prior to beginning employment
