Data Analyst II – Office of Equity

The Office of Equity Data Analyst will prepare and monitor Utah State Universitys annual Affirmative Action Plan and related federal reports including collecting and evaluating complex internal employment data and analyzing it against national data. The Data Analyst will also collect and maintain data related to the Office of Equitys discrimination and Title IX grievance processes and will prepare an annual Office of Equity transparency report. Additionally, the Data Analyst will assist with analyzing data for related campus climate surveys.Affirmative Action Data Collection and Analysis (50%) Collect, review, and analyze employee data containing confidential salary and personnel information, applicant information, hires, promotions, and terminations and determine problem areas, discrepancies, missing information, and incompatible data. Maintain data integrity while correcting inconsistencies to develop complete and accurate reports. Use Excel and Affirmative Action software to analyze and develop various statistical reports to determine problem areas. Summarize data and prepare and assemble Affirmative Action Plan and related reports for filing with the OFCCP. Track life-cycle of all projects, to include deadlines, setting up project in database, reporting status of each stage of project, etc. Stay up-to-date on federal affirmative action and related reporting requirements, deadlines, etc.Discrimination and Title IX Data Collection and Analysis (40%) Collect, review, analyze, and summarize data related to the Universitys discrimination and Title IX grievance procedures, including preparing data for annual transparency report.Other Office of Equity Data Related Projects (10%) Complete other Office of Equity data collection and analysis projects as needed. Develop and maintain quality control of relevant databases. Prepare written and oral reports.Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Science plus two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience. Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel. Advanced knowledge of data wrangling, data analysis, pivot tables, etc. Ability to work under multiple deadlines and sensitive timelines. Ability to communicate effectively with University administration, staff, and stakeholders to seek and exchange data, resolve problems, explain data interpretation, etc. Experience in drafting narratives related to data collection and analysis. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to accept and incorporate feedback in a positive manner.Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science or Information Science. Experience using Banner student information system (SIS), Oracle databases, or other SIS. Experience submitting reports to the federal government. Experience doing work on or overseeing an OFCCP Affirmative Action Program for an organization.
