POSITION SUMMARY The Cost Accountant will work closely with the on-site Property Staff, Construction Project Manager, Insurance Risk Analyst and other internal staff and external partners to ensure successful renovation and construction of multifamily residential properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate routinely with Construction Project Manager and Property Manager on a variety of job-related topics Provide data needed for insurance purposes Manage project cash flow, analyze cost expenditures and purchases Reconcile cash for cash availability Coordinate payment to external vendors Reconcile and analyze all project related accounts, tracking costs on spreadsheet Manage escrow accounts Analyze and prepare weekly and monthly financials and job cost reports Update spreadsheets and produce ad hoc reports Research and resolve invoice discrepancies Maintain organized and accurate files Maintain confidentiality of organizational information Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting highly preferred 3 years’ experience in Construction Accounting Experience with the insurance claims process highly preferred Prior Multifamily Residential experience highly preferred Proficient Excel skills required Yardi experience highly preferred Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment Analytical and problem-solving skills a must Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
